Hal Wilder is truly remarkable. Cowboy, college boy, soldier boy, sailor, writer and his own unique spirit of giving. Now, at 92, Hal reflects on his life experiences.
In Hal's words...
I drove a team of horses pulling a wagon, as we laid a new fence line 5 miles long. I drove a 1937 Ford V8 convertible. I flew B-17s and B-24s. Now I sail, and teach basic sailing on the Pacific Ocean.
It has been quite a life, quite a story, filled with many unexpected turns, and a lot of luck.
I hope you will browse through my site www.grandfatherstories.com and see whats there. When I write about the Flak at Munich or a Daylight Burglary in Illinois, it is a real experience I hope you never have. So read what I have written. Live your life and write about it for the benefit of others. It matters not how well you write. Your jewel is what you saw, what you lived.
Each life is unique,
each story is priceless.

Among Hal's other interests, is helping those with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Working on his own memoirs had so improved his memory that he was asked to lead a workshop on memory restoration for survivors of TBI. By this time Neurologists, with brain-scanning technology, had learned the brain cells are very plastic, unfocused, able to switch to new or different functions. Whether Stroke Tumor our physical trauma caused the damage, recover is quite possible.
Hal has learned of a number of "brain exercises" that are helping survivors as they struggle to recover. He has also learned that they can help him, and physically and mentally fit friends, to sharpen their minds and memory. These exercises are FREE for the asking.
